Looking to purchase a Motherboard.

If AMD wants to be able to compete with Intel Their new CPUs will habe to be priced accordingly.
On the other hand you chose a not so cheap motherboard.
What is the compatibility issue with the card, no BIOS updates to solve it?

Correct, no BIOS updates. And yes, the board is expensive, but worth it imo. And while i'm lucky enough to have money, i'll go for it. Maybe in the future won't be so easy...

That card should work in this system, are you sure it's not faulty? I'd test it on another PC to be sure, PCIE 2.0 is backwards compatible, so it should work on your current board.

Radeon HD 5770 is known to have compatibility issues with older motherboards. I've dealt with it first hand. HD 5770 won't POST in a Abit KN8 SLI.
