It would be nice if dvid would work on these z77x boards. That way I could use turbo/eist and not have to keep a locked voltage.

It doesn't work in the BIOS. If you raise the multiplier, the voltage stays the same as stock 33x voltage (for my 2500k), which causes my BIOS to freeze due to such a low voltage.

Oddly enough, dvid works fine in windows.

Any of you TT bigwigs think you could pass this info to Gigabyte for them to fix.

Hmmm. I'm using dynamic vcore with a 2600k, first I've heard of those problems with the 2500k. But with the SB cpu's, best to use multiplier and just leave turbo on auto or disable, and leave eist, etc on auto. My vcore stays between .96-1.02 at idle. I think I have LLC on turbo, on higher setting the vcore won't back down.
For me at least the latest BIOS for UD5H has me fixed up pretty good, but yeah, there's some things that are optimized for IB cpu and they are still working out the kinks for SB cpu.

How do you mean dvid doesn't work in BIOS but does in windows?

Lol, it doesn't work because when you raise the multiplier, the dvid voltage doesn't rise with it, like my p67a-ud4-b3 did.

With optimized defaults, my dvid shows 1.220 or 1.240, something like that. If i turn off turbo/power savings, it shows 1.175 ish.

Now, if I leave turbo/eist/power savings on, and raise the multiplier and reboot back into BIOS, it shows my voltage at 1.175 ish. The voltage it shows for turbo/power savings being disabled.

That causes my PC to freeze while in BIOS due to the low voltage, but works fine if I don't go into BIOS and let it boot into windows.

It should run at stock CPU speed in the BIOS,that's how my ud5 worked with dvid,same as this z68

Is there option to turn off OS handled power saving in bios? Maybe this is interfering? Could be bios bug though

this is normal i think,because it doesnt show what llc adds to the cpu voltage

how are you setting dvid? you used to have to set cpu voltage to normal then type in the amount needed to be stable into dvid,is that how your using it?
