how long did you use it for? should be ok in my opinion,im running all my stuff off a 600w,and my 5870 uses more power than a 7850 would,two pcie 6 pin power plugs compared to a single 6 pin on a 7850,plus the ib cpu will use slightly less power

just for peace of mind id buy new,though corsair have 5 year warranty so it still should be fine? either way you can sell the old psu and claw back some money that way

I agree if he's a gamer but it's another $100. It all depends what you need the card for. I have a 6450 in my HTPC and it's main purpose is to pass hi rez music over HDMI to my AVR. My wife's machine has a 5450 because all she needs is basic video for bookwork, cruising the net, etc. and both these lower priced older tech cards work perfectly for what I use them for.
But Lord knows you can certainly spend about all you want to on these things.
But, newer is always more fun to have if for nothing else than bragging rights!

What is with the single DVI outputs on the new cards? I run 2 DVI Sammys. How would I do that? Adapter? Lossless?

it comes with all the adaptors needed,ones a hdmi to dvi adaptor cable,if your monitor has no speakers then your fine,other cables will be a display port and dvi cable and hdmi cable,with two 22" monitors the 2gb of memory on the 7850 would help esp if you added a third for eyefinity

take your time with parts,buy a few at a time,unless your in dire need of a complete system ect
