    Default ga-ep45-ud3p wont boot with USB keyboard

    Hey all, I am playing around on my old system and i Just updated the bios from F6 to F10. Its a ga-ep45-ud3p mobo with a q8200 processor.

    after upgrading to F10 bios the system will no longer boot if a usb keyboard is plugged in. it will hang at the post screen then go into a boot loop. i have to turn off the power supply to get it back to normal. If I unplugg the usb keyboard it boots fine into windows. if i use a ps/2 keyboard it boots fine into windows.

    I like the use of my usb keyboard, because this machine also doubles as a hackintosh. So i would like for it to work. the keyboard is a standard apple usb keyboard.

    Any ideas? Or maybe i should just go back to F6 bios?

    When flashing, did you first change the Keep DMI data option in QFlash to Disable?
    After flashing your bios, did you perform the following steps:
    1. enter bios, load optimized bios defaults, then save settings and exit?
    2. re-enter the bios to make any required bios changes?

    i didnt do either of those....i did reset my settings tho for the overclock and what not.

    Try loading optimized settings, save settings and exit, then re-enter your o/c bios settings.
    With an updated bios, you often need to tweak some bios settings.
    Definitely stress test your system with your new bios.

    The usb problem might be related to the Legacy USB setting in your bios.

    yea i played with the legacy usb settings no avail. I will try going back to optimized settings and see what I can figure out.

    Yea. I went back to F6. Works fine. Im going to leave it that way.
