Glad to hear they got it working for you, not 100% but at least working for you.
Last UD5H beta BIOS F9d has made progress on this problem. It's the first BIOS update that detects GPU on first slot PCI-E and LSI Megaraid 9260-8i on second PCI-E slot.
The other LSI Raid card I have (8204elp) don't have the same luck. It is still not detected when GPU is on first slot.
But it is good enough for me. I don't need both Raid cards working.
I suppose Gigabyte will continue correcting errors. Eventually they get there... :)
Glad to hear they got it working for you, not 100% but at least working for you.

Well I just tried to move my sever over to the Z77x-UD3H and major problems. I totaly forgot about this thread and the problem you had, well didnt totaly forget but I knew someone else had LSI raid problems on z77x but I thought the were resolved. Now looking back looks like the same problems I have except 1 or 2.
How stable is your system with your LSI card? When ever I try to read files from raid or trying to backup the raid the system will crash giving bsod memory errors. Moved back to x58 and system is rock solid and backing up data.
This is a issue with me and need both cards working along with a GPU in first slot. I will try to see if I can get this resolved further with my contact at Gigabyte.

I'm not having any problems with my setup. I'm still using F9d, I'm waiting for an official BIOS to make the change. I use only one raid card plus the graphics on first slot. I'm using LSI 9260-8i with only 4 SAS drives and only one raid 5 volume. I updated the firmware of the LSI CARD and never had a problem.
I not at home till the end of August, by then I can give you more details if you need them
Hi,
I had overheating issues with the combination of graphics card, raid controller (LSI9265) and raid expander cards. The updated BIOS seemed stable enough, but i eventually swapped the motherboard for a G1 Sniper 3 as it had a more flexible combination of PCIe slots (more room for cooling).
However, the G1 Sniper 3 does not recognise the LSI card at all (in any slot). Gigbyte say they are working with LSI to resolve the problem (the apparently have access to an LSI9265 card). I have been waiting several weeks for a solution, but nothing so far. Now they have access to resources from LSI, perhaps they will update all of the z77x BIOS's...
Andy
I hope they fix this issue on all official BIOS, I still use UD5H F9d beta version, waiting for official releases.
Do you have the latest LSI firmware?
Tell me if you want some more details from my setup...
Yes using the latest firmware.
Any details you can give will help and I will pass along.

The latest BIOS update for the G1 Sniper 3 (F6 - not the older F6a beta) seems to have finally fixed the issues I had.
The BIOS seems to have a few new options regarding OpRoms and the PCI-e slots, and the motherboard correctly identifies the RAID card during the boot cycle.
I swapped the GA-Z77X-UD5H for a G1 Sniper 3 board to help with overheating problems I had (the SAS expander was in the last slot and there wasn't room for additional cooling). I now have the Nvidia graphics in the first slot, the LSI 9265 in the next full length slot, and the SAS expander in the third full length slot. I have added 40mm fans to both the LSI RAID card and HP SAS expander (they needed them!). Thankfully, the temperatures are much better now.
The BIOS update doesn't seem to picky which slots I use for the graphics and RAID cards, which is nice. I haven't had a chance to experiment with CPU and Memory overclocking, but that isn't a priority for me. I suspect some of the other Gigabyte z77 motherboards will be getting similar updates soon.
I do still have one problem, but I have no idea what the cause might be (possibly a driver?). If I enable WriteBack caching, the RAID card stalls and resets while running the ATTO benchmark. Weirdly, I don't see any problems when the card is set to WriteThrough. I guess that will be the next challenge...![]()
Glad to hear latest bios has some imporvments with LSI Raid. I will have to flash the new bios for the UD3h and see if it helps me.
You say BIOS seems to have a few new options regarding OpRoms and the PCI-e slots. What changes did you make in bios?

@MazMX5 or anyone else with G1.Sniper3 with LSI raid cards.
Looks like Gigabyte has been working on some bios updates to help with some issues. I may have a bios to pass along to you guys. If and when I do I will post it here.
