Is it going into sleep state? Some have had problems with coming out of sleep state but I thought that was pretty well fixed by now.
Recently purchased a z77 ud5h to replace a z68 ud3h-b3 that has been nothing but problems for me. I currently have the official f8 bios flashed. I can get my pc stable in prime for 48hrs+. However, sometimes if the machine is shutdown for long it takes the mobo 5+ attempts to boot. Is this a voltage issue, if so which voltage?

if your having sleep resume problems i would manually set up your ram,speed/timings/dram voltages and maybe try with 1.10v cpu vtt voltage or qpi/vtt,its usually ram related as in voltages or settings not right

The machine isn't sleeping, if I actually power it down and leave it be so the next time I turn it on it is a cold start, that's when this 5+ tries it does to successfully boot into windows happens. I'll check vtt, though I think I have that at 1.125 since I have all memory slots full, though I do not believe I have timings manually set for ram since it looked like xmp profile 1 is using the correct timings.

Are you using the most current version of Intel SRT? Other than that I would say if it was me I'd just go back to Windows 7 unless there is some critical component of Windows 8 that you absolutely need.
You did not indicate if you were overclocking or not. But if you are, I would suggest setting everything back to optimized settings and running the system like that and see if you still have the same issues. Finally, you should check the bclk and manually set it to 100 if is not on that already. Earlier bios set this to a value that caused instability. Others have set it to 100.1 and that seemed to help.
Tried it twice -- the 1st time using all the latest drivers from Gigabyte and all available updates from MS before upgrading to Win 8. the second time I installed Win 7 and upgraded with all the latest Gigabyte drivers, MS updates, and went to Intel's download site and got their latest drivers also before upgrading to Win 8.
Yes, I need the Hyper-V function in Win 8.
Server 2012 presented even more problems (the Intel NIC also wouldn't load) and Server 2008R2 did run ISRT but the USB 3.0 would not work in 2008R2. Besides, I like the Hyper-V in Win 8 and S2012.
I have provided a bug report to the MS Win 8 team so I guess we'll see what becomes with that.
have a issue with date and time not updating while off. for example i turn pc off at 1pm then back on an hour later at 2pm, it will show that its 1pm.
dont think its sleep mode cause it shows bios & boot screen when turning on. all other bios settings stay saved.. dont think its cmos battery. really bugging me, manually updating clock.
