have no idea tbh, arnt they all set at a specific speed but still ramp up if needed when temps rise?
The board in question is a G1 Sniper M3.
In the BIOS there are settings for CPU and system fan speed. My question is regarding the System Fan Speed setting. It gives you four options:
- Normal
- Silent
- Manual
- Disabled
Does 'Silent' mode adjust the speed according to system temps (like 'Normal', except with a lower top speed), or is the fan RPM fixed at a particular speed?

I've never used Silent mode but I think the fans run at a constant but slow speed. Usually "Normal" is when they ramp up and down as needed. Why don't you just try it and see?
From the Manual...
Normal allows the CPU/system fan to run at diffrent speeds according to the CPU/system temperature. You can adjust the the fan speed with Easy Tune 6 based your ststems requirements.
Silent allows the CPU/system fan to run at slow speeds.
Manual allows you to control the CPU/system fan speed under the Slope PWM item.
Disabled allows the CPU/system fan to run at full speeds.
Looks like the only way to control the fans is under either Normal or Manual. Looks as though it will have to be a 4 pin connector also (PWM) for manual mode anyway.
