    Default General System Overhall

    I've got a custom built system that running sluggish as hell after an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I'm not very computer savvy compared to the knowledge I've seen on this board through a bit of lurking.

    I'm planning on flashing the bios using the "reflashing bios guide here"(from v1 to v5, yeah that old) but I think I probably need to do alot more then that since I haven't upgraded anything on this computer in the last 4yrs. I've gone with "if it aint broke don't fix it" rule but now things seem to be need fixin.

    In any case I wanted to know what's the best way to go about posting info for your review? Should I screenshot CPU-Z tabs and post in here or what?

    Bios - Award Software International F1

    System is sluggish after windows 7 upgrade from vista. Slow loading time when opening windows, playing videos, games, photoshop, everything. CPU also spikes to 80%-100%.

    I made the upgrade on a different drive and system got sluggish. I figured the drive was dying so I cloned it and put it on a new current drive and the problems persisted.

    Please add complete details for all hardware in your system, including brand names and model numbers.
    It's best to fill all possible options in your PC Specs section of your profile.
    Does windows Device Manager show any problem devices?

    Loading OPTIMIZED bios defaults is REQUIRED before you tweak your bios settings.
    This includes new system setups and immediately after flashing your bios!!!

    I would perform a clean install especially it is just an upgrade disk to windows 7.
