Set clock and RTC, save and exit, but clock doesn't store and goes back to some strange time?

Changed battery, updated BIOS.

Had same problem on 2 returned ASUS P8H61-M LE motherboards Motherboard P8H61-M LE BIOS 0704 X64 won't save clock settings or RTC clock wake up.

and

1 ASRock H61M-HVS/M/AL BIOS P1.60. H61M-HVS/M/AL BIOS P1.60 not storing clock or RTC (Real Time Clock wake up settings)
