Help me pick 32gb Ram and Heatsink for Z77X-UP5 TH and i7 3770k

Hey everyone,

I have my heart set on the Z77X-UP5 TH. I want to pair this up with 32GB of 1600 DDR3. I am concerned about the right ram and heatsink. I know some have had issues booting with 32gb and clearance depending on the ram. I am using this page from Newegg for choices Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Memory, Desktop Memory, 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM, 32GB (4 x 8GB), DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

best value for money ram imo is the samsung in my sig,and its low profile so no clearance issues

I probably don't need it, I am not even a gamer. Right now I am using an old Geforce 8800 because I don't game. I will be doing a lot of encoding, photoshop etc.

The samsung memory is an excellent choice IMO but why not go with an enclosed water cooled loop such as a Corsair H80?

well its down to your needs really,i was just thinking of your budget ect,16gb is usually fine ,you can also make use of lucid virtu mvp to give your geforce 8800 a big boost in performance

I don't believe I would put 32GB of the Samsung ram in considering problems some people have. If you want stability I would probably go with Kingston, but I'm sure some G Skill would work good. You need to look and see if the ram you want has been tested if not with your board then at least certified for Z77. These ram manufacturers seem to do a lot more board compatibility testing than the board makers do but look around and make a wise choice.
Another thing clearing a big heat sink like a Noctua NH-D14, some ram have tall heat spreaders but are removable: some aren't. Like conners said, a H80 or a Zalman CNPS20LQ could be good if you want to use tall ram. I have the Zalman on a Z68 rig and it works pretty good for an AIO.
