GA-X58a-UD3R wakes from sleep immediately when USB hub is connected
If I connect a USB 3.0 hub (Syba SY-HUB50044) then I am unable to put my computer to sleep. When I try, the PC wakes up again immediately. If I disconnect it then the problem goes away. I've tested this thoroughly. I originally thought that it might be a problem with the USB 3.0 host controller, but the problem is the same if I use the USB 2.0 sockets. I'm running Windows 7 x64.
I've explored every solution I can think of, including peripheral power management in Windows and in the BIOS; power, sleep and wake policies. Nothing has worked.
This is particularly annoying as my motherboard never could resume from sleep until I updated the BIOS last week. All was well for a few days until I encountered this problem with my shiny new toy :-(
Has anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried disabling wake up events such as usb mouse and/or usb keyboard?

Loading OPTIMIZED bios defaults is REQUIRED before you tweak your bios settings.
This includes new system setups and immediately after flashing your bios!!!

It's the same in all USB ports, including USB 2.0 and 3.0.
All wake-up events that I know of are disabled, except for the power button of course.
I'm not sure about "detect when device is plugged in" but that sounds like something I need if I want to use USB at all.
Another annoyance is that the PC wakes when you remove a USB device, or when you add one. If I could turn this off then maybe that would fix it? :-)
