2x RAID controllers might cause the shadow memory not enough problem, but maybe it would works without any problem, and i think you have to conntact Highpoint for support as well
Hello,
This is a compatibility question. I would like to add a Marvell 9128 (Highpoint 640L) or 9485 (2720SGL) card to my EX58-EXTREME (w/ latest modded BIOS). I currently use nine of the ten onboard SATA ports and the Intel controller does host a four-disk RAID5 array.
Will the system accept a RAID controller card? Windows 8 will be installed on an S. S. D. connected to the card and I would like the option to connect multiple drives for a wipe-and-reinstall with a second RAID5 array in the future. Does there exist a conflict?
Thank you,
Silekonn

Hello,
Thank you for your response. Can the controller card be used in AHCI to maintain the Intel array? I cannot afford to lose the current storage configuration.
Thank you,
