Which SATA port did you plug it into? Try Intel SATA2 port 4 or 5 if you haven't already.
I have a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3 motherboard with the F3 bios. I have set the Bios to use AHCI so I can run my OCZ SSD on it. I now want to add a Lite-On dvd drive to it but it will not detect at all using the Serial ATA AHCI BIOS, Version iSrc 1.20E on the startup screen. Is there anything I can change to get this Lite-on dvd drive to be detected using AHCI. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How old is the burner? If its older then a 3 yrs old it could just have issues working in AHCI mode. Has it worked in AHCI mode before on another system? New dvd burners are very cheap on newegg. I would suggest just buying a new one for under $20.

It is a new Lite-On IHAS burner from Newegg. This drive worked fine on my old machine which ran Sata IDE mode. However, my new machine is running in AHCI mode with a Vertex 3 SSD as my boot drive. Can I reset my new machine to run in Sata IDE mode instead of AHCI mode without corrupting my SSD hard drive data? Thanks.
