how much dram voltage and cpu/vtt did you try? i needed atleast 1.6250v with 16gb at 2133mhz
Been having a horrid problem.. I have 8G of 2133 G.Skill ram, running Fine, full speed, no issues at 4.8G on a 2600K (F11a Bios).. Bought 16GB to replace the 8GB , 2133. The 16GB (2x8) refuses to run over 1600Mhz. Can (or will if ya think) this be corrected on a future bios update? Perhaps the UEFI if it ever comes out for this board, which i believe was their top of the line Z68?
Appreciate the responses.
Thanks.
FYI what the MB does, is when i set the XMP to profile 1 or 2, or set the timing manually.. As soon as i save the Bios F10, it shuts down.. Turns back on.. Shuts Down.. Turns back on and tells me my OC has failed.. (Kinda like the Loop i know of that i read about).. But it does NOT do this when its set to 1600 (or my 8GB is in and its set to 2133 with XMP Enabled)..
I have a great guy on the Gskill forums helping me, but its not the ram.. I have tried 2 Dif 16GB Kits in 4 days.. Every config u can imagine.

I had it up to 1.70 for giggles, VTT to 1.20.. Its like no matter what i set it at, it will not boot and resets itself over 1600... Tho my 8gb set runs perfectly fine at 2133 with not one issue.. Its driving me nutso.
it wont post whatsoever with 16gb? not even at 1600mhz? can only be a bios issue imo

1600 it will post, but its not 100% stable.. but when i say stable, i mean no bsod or whatever, on reboots the bios will post a fail overclocking and reset to 1333 and drop the OC down to stock levels.. Its totally a bios issue, apparently the z68 boards had boot loop bios issues and overall flaky bioses.. Gigabyte is pushing UEFI bios updates but the board i have the z68x-ud7-b3 doesnt have it yet, but they say it is coming.. there waiting on something from Marvell apparently.. Maybe that will rectify the issue, maybe it wont..
Either way, why say the board is capable of 2133 / 32GB when it obviously isnt ready for it.
it probably is with certain ram just not that particular model as of yet, they are pretty quick in updating beta bios's so theres a good chance it will be fixed
spamming f12 and alt at gigabyte splash screen so that it flashes the backup bios with the main bios version helps with boot loops as does manually setting/typing in 100 bclk

Yes they have had many bioses since i have had the board, right now on the latest f11a beta, but this board is now just about (if not already) end of life being the 77's and ivy bridge are the thing, so i hold reservation that this will ever get fixed. Plus they are horrid (as most are) when talking about what is/are being fixed in bios releases.
Yes i flashed the backup bios, always the same as the current bios (with the Alt-f12).. and I have set the bclk at 100.
