What operating system are you using?

Hi.
I have registered to post here to try and get some help with a problem I'm having with my Gigabyte motherboard and Graphics card.
The problem is that when the Hd7950 puts the monitor to sleep it will not wake back up. Usually a mouse movement or keyboard movement would wake it but this doesn't work.
In the end I have to turn off my computer and reboot if the monitor decides not to wake up. And thats the thing; sometimes, every once in a while, it will work (not sure if that indicates a problem with 'zero core'?).
All windows power settings are set correctly, with most power savings disabled (high performance) as are any BIOS options.
I don't know if this is graphics card hardware related, the motherboard bios or the graphics cards bios, but is a very frustrating problem to live with on a an day to day basis.
Hopefully some of you technical wizards might be able to shed some light on this situation.
Thanks for any help, appreciated.

try setting/testing with memory speed at 1600mhz,leave timings as they are see if it sleeps/resumes properly then
its either still a bios issue or a memory setting/voltage not right as it it saves/resumes the sleep state to and from the memory

Hi Wazza,
The computer is not actually going to 'Sleep', it's just the monitor that is 'sleeping'/turning off to save power + longetivity.
I have hibernate/sleep disabled on my Windows 7 installation. This is purely an issue where the monitor is shut off after 'x' amount of time and thn cant be woken back up. Thus the need to reboot because of the blank screen with no signal - the computer is still on though.

Already set those Wazza, PEG as graphics and IGPU disabled.
Thanks.
There's some other instances of this happening on the net, but no solution that i can find.

Thought I wouldnt have it considering both the motherboard and the graphics card are both Gigabyte. ???

Screen woke up with mouse fine this morning, However, I popped out just now to grab a coffee and came back and the screen would not wake again! Very frustrating - had to reboot. But yeah I am using 12.11 beta, though this has been a problem with all of the drivers since I've had the card (12.7) & I also did a complete re-install :( to rule out registry corruption. My HD7950 is on the latest bios from Gigabyte F42 which was actually already on it. I may have narrowed it down somewhat as I have discovered that if the 'Powerplay' setting is increased in the driver at all it definitely WONT wake up the monitor after switching off. With everything at default (powerplay at 0) it's hit or miss whether I'll have to reboot to get the monitor switched on again. Don't know whether it's a driver issue, or BIOS issue with either the board or the card. Just thought the Guru's on here might have more of a clue than I do, cause i've tried most everything and I just cant get the proper functionality from my graphics card.
Do you have a UPS for the system? if you do, One thing to try/verify is under power options select advance power settings, in there under USB Settings make sure the USB for both battery and Plugged in are selected as Enabled.
I had a flickering UPS and for some reason under battery power the USB was set to disabled. that killed the Mouse and KB not allowing me to wakeup the the monitor.
also under power options what if you disabled turning off the monitor but enabled dimming the monitor instead? could be your system actually hard locking but with the monitor off and you can't tell.
Otherwise I am leaning to an ATI driver issue as Wazza already stated, I know that doesn't help you. I own all nVidia products so I can't test any scenario's for you unfortunately
