tried a long cmos clear by leaving out the motherboard battery for 30minutes? try that and see if it picks up your drives
make a note of all bios/oc settings beforehand as it will reset them
I have a H55-USB3 motherboard which had a vertex4 ssd running windows. I was running fine, however, at 128GB it was too small. I had purchased a 256 GB Vetex2 and installed windows 7 on it yesterday.
After a successful install and update, I ran the Windows experience test on the new setup. It hung, and threw a read error and would not quit, forcing me to do a hard reset. After the reboot, the SSD was no longer recognized. I though the drive may have died, so I reinstalled the old Vertex4 SSD and it was not recognized anymore either.
I have tried multiple combinations BIOS(F7) settings and SATA2 ports with both SSDs and still cannot get it to see the drives.
Any suggestions?

The install was on another computer and the ssd was my boot disk.
The disk is not seen in the BIOS. And is now hanging on "detecting IDE drives..."

i can only think that the drives have failed
any mechanical hdd's connected? do they show up in the bios?
tested the ssd's in another machine? if they arnt showing up in the bios though chances are they have failed or are faulty
EDIT: youve tried all the sata ports and different sata cables?

When I connect mechenical hard drives they are recognised. On my laptop, the vertex4 is recognized and I am using it now. When I attempted to connect it to my main computer it does not show up.
I think I will try to hook up the vertex2 to my laptop and see if it is recognized.

you can leave the battery out overnight aswell, sometimes it needs longer,if they are seen on another machine and not the h55 then it can only be a motherboard or bios issue

If not I will leave the battery out overnight and cross my finger.
Thanks again for you help.

Just an update,
I was able to get the old ssd (vertex4) recognised by the computer. Using the exact same settings, the vertex2 was still not detected.
Therefore, I reinstalled windows back onto the old disk, and put in an RMA request for the vertex2.
