it could just be a bios bug with that new card? i cant think what else it could be if it worked fine before
Hi,
Still very happy with my 'old' EX58-ud5 but recently changed the 4870x2 (AMD) for a GTX680 (Nvidia).
However since that change my pc will not resume from S3 sleep.
It goes to sleep fine but after a mouse/keyboard action to wake it up all lights go on, my case fans start up, but the cpu fan won't spin up..... and that's it.
Only a power-off-on will wake it up and Windows 7 will startup. Sometimes with the message 'resuming' sometimes 'windows didn't close....'
I am very sure that I removed/deinstalled all AMD driver-stuff. I even went into 'device manager' to delete remaining hidden devices.
I went back to bios F9 and F10 (comming from from F13).
Anyone??

It is not that big a deal. My pc starts up quick enough after a shut-down (SSD helps a lot) but still the S3 sleep is better.
Hpefully it's a driver issue which will be solved in some Nvidia driver update.... I can't imagine Gigabyte to solve this in a bios update anymore....
I don't understand it anymore but that doesn't mean I am not happy :-)
But my sleep s3 seems to work.
The only two things I changed are a keyboard and a mouse. Keyboard was ps/2 and is now USB, mouse was USB and still is.
and now it doesn't work :-( damn! Thought I nailed it.
Well... shutdown it is...
You are not alone. There is a known issue with 1366 motherboards & GTX 600 cards. The solution is to use a GTX 500 series card or buy a newer radeon card.
Google the topic "GTX 680 - problems resuming from S3 sleep" from the EVGA forums and you will see 9 pages of people having the same issue. It has been known by EVGA since the launch of the 680 April 2012 and remains unfixed.
