have you tried without the marvell drivers and just the drivers that windows installs?
I've upgraded my X58A-UD3R to Windows 8 pro and I had installed a Rocket 640L card to give me 4 SATA III Ports which were running very well in Windows 8 Pro.
When I tried to enable the Hyper-V feature in Windows 8 Pro the X58A-UD3R would reboot and lockup after POST as Windows 8 Pro was loading.
When I removed the Rocket 640L PCIe card I could enable the Hyper-V feature without any issue.
The problem is the Marvell 9128 isn't fully compatable with Windows 8 and while it does run slightly faster than a SATA II connection it's not much faster.
Should I disable the 9128 and try the 640L again?
Any other experiences people are having with the X58A-UD3R and Windows 8 Pro that you could share?
Thank you.

I did disable the marvell in Gateways BIOS and deleted all the Marvell Drivers I could find but I still couldn't run with the 640L though it would boot up a couple of times before Win8 would lock up.
The only thing I haven't tried (yet) is disabling all the Marvell & GSATA drivers in BIOS -- leaving me with just the 6 Intel SATA ports -- and then do a clean install of Windows 8.
Of course now I'm thinking it might be smarter to install a RocketRaid 2720 instead of the 640L -- if I can that is.
