    Default SSD Temperature not showing anywhere

    Hello,

    I don't know if this is where I should post this but I didn't find anything closer to my subject.

    I have an OCZ Vertex 4 128GB on GA-G33M-S2L board.

    I can't monitor the temp of my SSD.

    I use openhardwaremonitor-v0.5.1-beta, hwmonitor_1.21 but neither is showing the temp of my SSD, only the temp of my 2 HDDs

    maybe another issue due to old board, but i need to find a way to check the temp of my SSD.

    It recognize the drive in storage but in sensor part it doesn't.

    Hmmm funny,it sees my corsair ssd temp,could be either software or a faulty temp sensor on your ssd?

    could be,but ssd's dont get hot anyway,some fan controllers have external temp probes you can attach to wherever and get a temp reading

    My OCZ Agility2 ssd didn't show accurate temperatures, it usually displayed as 1o (C).
    Try Crystal Dew World - CrystalDiskInfo freeware for displaying drive temperature and other information.

    The answer from OCZ forum

    The Vertex 4 does not have a temperature sensor. This is true of most SSDS. The ones that do report a temperature value most times show a preprogrammed value instead of the actual temperature. SSDs produce little heat so the reported temperature is not an important value outside of enterprise applications.

    It looks like some OCZ ssd models don't report their temperatures.
    In my screen-shot, it shows that 1.10TB has been written to the disk, the power on count was 149 times and the total number of hours that my ssd was powered on.

    Some ID numbers, such as ID B1 (wear leveling) relate to projected ssd remaining life: x24 = 36 (decimal).
    The RAW values are hexadecimal numbers where ID 09 ==> x6FA = 1786 (decimal) power on hours.

    If you're confused by hexadecimal notation, just be glad that I didn't write this post using only hex characters; 0 - 9 and A to F.
