    Default Gigabyte z77x-ud3h boot loop

Hi. I built a new rig recently and now I face this problem:
My gigabyte z77x-ud3h boots up, and gets into reboot cycle 3 times. Nothing is shown on screen. Then it boots up 4th time, displays screen with press del f12 etc. But when I press del to get into bios settings, it doesn't respond and gigabyte uefi dualbios screen shows up for 5 seconds and then it goes back to loop with led code db.

I left mobo without battery overnight - didn't help, tried with different ram slots with one stick, tried removing everything except cpu ram and processor, tried different usb slots for keyboard, nothing helped. What could be the issue?

    My specs:
    Gigabyte z77x-ud3h
    i5-3550p
    Corsair 750w psu
    Geforce 8600gt

have you tried without the graphic card? use onboard graphics?

also try envoking the backup bios to kick in

do this by holding front power button in and flick on the psu power button on and flick off as soon as the fan spins,do this two or three times then let go of front panel button and let pc boot up,you should see a message saying the backup bios is being flashed to the main bios

then see if it still loops

No, the problem is, this CPU doesn't have onboard graphics card and I don't have any other cpu to try on.

Thanks for suggestion, I will try that when I'll be back home. Should I take any bios flash on my usb drive? Is it possible to flash from USB if motherboard doesn't react on keyboard? Because keyboard is lit (num lock) and it reacts, but motherboard just doesn't do anything

Yeah I'm waiting for a new card to arrive and will try on it. But would graphics cause issue with keyboard input not working?

I'm not sure about bios version because I just can't get into it. The mobo was sealed and proposed to be new (although bought it from ebay), I get uefi dualboot titled screen with no content and a loop cycle. So when I look on motherboard bios led, it starts to turn on from one bios, loops 4 time, then tries on another bios, loops 4 times and it's doing this forever.

It would be great if I could get into flashing (end button) but it just doesn't react on keyboard input. I tried every single usb port, v2, v3, fron usb, num lock is being enabled and disabled on press, but motherboard doesn't react on any key (del, all f's, end)

I wonder if it's my fault, because when I was connecting PSU, I connected 6-pin PCI-e connector to 12v 8-pin connector and maybe I fried it.

Maybe the bios is corrupt and it's unable to copy the backup to the main. to force it, turn off the computer then press and hold the power button until it turns on and then turns off again then let go of the power button. It should reboot a couple of times again and just let it do its thing.

sounds very much like a corrupted bios if your seeing that, need to envoke backup bios to recover everything

I tried force bios update (pressing power button and disabling/enabling psu power) and it worked!

I had problem, when bios flashed and windows started, keyboard and mouse weren't working, then I downloaded latest flash (F18) from gigabyte site, flashed it and it worked like a charm

    Thank you!
