New build help

Hi all,
Thank for the help in advance.
I've just built a new computer specs as follows.
Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 motherboard

i7 2600k cpu
enermax maxrevo 1350w psu
corsair vengeance LP (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) 8GB 2x4GB
evga GTX480
The problem is when I power the computer on everything powers up, fans hard drive gpu fan etc
but the monitor remains blank. have tried both with plugging monitor into gpu and onboard graphics.
Also tried with the gpu removed.
Update to this post
can now get pc to boot with 1 stick of ram. will not boot with 2.

tested the other stick in the same working ram slot? could be a dead ram module

Yes have tried both sticks of ram. Both work ok by them selves, but if you put the 2
together the system will not post. Also you get no beeps from the case speaker
when both sticks are plugged in. Have tried running both sticks in slots 1&3 and 2&4.
Have also tried single stick in every slot by it self and the system will boot.

are you using latest mb bios? its usually colour coded ram slots on mine its blue and white,read your mb manual and see what slots it says to use when using two dimms totalling 8gb,could try loading optimized defaults with one stick installed,power mb down,add the second ram module and see if it runs with both sticks
