  1. By the way, F9b and any future BIOSes including F9c include the updated ROM, so AHCI is a likely culprit if you were booting ok with F9a and early versions.
  2. Hi Autocrosser. Sorry about the delay. Was wondering if you were able to fix your issue or not. If not, I have a couple of points you need to make sure of if you want to enable AHCI:
    1. you have AHCI enabled in BIOS.
    2. you have correct Linux drivers installed (If your HD is connected to Intel southbridge, then you need to download correct driver from Intel's website. If connected to JMicron, then you need to go to JMicron website to download correct driver.
    3. When you installed Linux and set up your HD, you need to make sure you formatted the drive for AHCI. If not, you need to reformat.

    Also, your DVD drives whether SATA or IDE shouldn't matter. ie, it shouldn't be causing your issue.

    Anyway, hope this helps.
