Hi, will Gigabyte allow an advanced RMA? I know the site says not, but if there is no advanced RMA it would mean a long period of computer down time.

    Hi
    Does the Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H
support 2 discrete graphics cards in "crossfire" using the PCIE2 slots
    (I don't mean hybrid crossfire)

    Janus:

Apologies upfront for my not being too tech-savvy enough to figure out what is going on with my GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard.

    I purchased that along with 2 sets of G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory.

I installed them as instructed, but didn't even get a blue screen when I turned it on. However, I removed all but 1 stick, leaving it in slot 1, and it booted up fine. I then trouble shot the remaining 3 sticks, placing them, one at a time in slot 1, and it booted up fine.

The problems started when I'd add anything above 1 stick, and it would go back to not starting up, or it would reset/reboot.

I RMA'd it already, but after looking at some other posts here...were there some other things I could have done?

Thanks in advance, and I apologize again for being not so smart in the tech area!

    Jon

    Hello Janus,

Can you please look at a thread i opened in regards to EP45T-EXTREME having problems with OCZ memory at 4.0D.

It's my first Gigabyte motherboard & i'm hoping you will help me resolve my problem. I chose Gigabyte over Asus as i believed it to be the better solution.

Also i want to run 2x sata HDD in raid zero. Is it better to use any particular SATA ports over others to get best performance & minimum conflicts ?

    Thanks

Hello, All the way from the Netherlands I mix myself in the discussion about the "not working" Smart Backup with the SATA2 controller. I choose the GA-EP45-DS5 motherborad for its easy and Smart Backup - Plug and Play according to the Gigabyte website!! It didn't work and still doesn't, whatever I've tried. An email to Gigabyte support: No reply!! Finally I googeled and found this site with astonishing results. The SATA2 controller doesn't work at all. A hugh announcement from Gigabyte and now that this problems appear the company wraps itself in dumbness about this issue.
May be you are, on behalf of Gigabyte, able to give us an honnest answer and tell us if there will be an update for this mistake, when this particular update will be ready or do I have to return my motherboard and choose one from another compagny?

    Best regards,
    Alexander.
