Amount of memory sticks matter??

Hey , I was wondering if getting to 1 gig memory is better off obtained by ; 4 x 256 , or 2 x 512 . Dual channel motherboards make difference?? Thanks

Dual channel generally gives a slight performance edge so 2x512 of identical sticks would be optimal if your mainboard supports the dual channel memory controller.
