noob RAM question DDR2 1066/800

I purchased a refurb kit for my old PC. ASUS M2N-MX SE AM2+/AM2, Corsair Dominator 2x1GB DDR2 1066, AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1 GHz, ASUS EN8500GT 256MB 128-bit PCI-E x16, Western Digital 320GB SATA HD, SIGMA 535W P/S. I just read that the AMD 4000+ does not support above DDR2 800, but the motherboard supports 1066. Can I run the 1066 memory at 800 to satisfy the CPU?, or do I have to send it back and get DDR2 800?

Yes, your memory will run fine at slower speeds. It will also run without issue at its rated speed so you won't have to worry about memory problems if you decide to run it faster.
