xp2-9200 mushkin

hey there people, i've posted in the gigabyte forums for a bit, and im really REALLY confused on this overclocking crap, mainly cuz i cant print out or write down that long long template of settings lsdmeasap wants me to put in 1/2 the time, but i've gone up and i've gone down in overclocks just to see the range of that this mobo can do with this memory, and im noticing that i should get a bit more outta this memory then i am getting. but then im also not fully informed on which is faster, memory OC or a cpu oc? also for that matter, how come all these voltages and "drive settings" and such for overclocking on auto are soooooo over estimated, its like most of the time auto settings could kill the POST. im @ 725mhz*2 right now for memory with a 3.9ghz clock on the cpu. i know for sure im stable @ 700mhz*2 memory but im trying out 25 more mhz for the hell of it.

mobo - EP45-UD3P
cpu - e8600
gpu - gtx280
cooling - tuniq tower 120 (as5 compound)
memory - xp2-9200 (heat spreader removed and tape replaced with AS5)
