Samsung Green 30nm Memory Test

Some of you have probably heard about this ram,and its ocing ability its samsungs world first 30nm green dual channel ram,rated at only 1.35v,so today my 8gb kit arrived and i though id post some results

the kits rated speed/timings at 1.35v are 11-11-11-28-2t@ 1600mhz,with a few minutes tweaking i was able to get this result using only 1.45v dram voltage,vccio was left untouched at 1.05v,i was using 2600k and z68 v pro mb,this kit will run at 2400mhz on x79 due to improved memory controller



i didnt want to push dram voltage too much but easily achieved 2133mhz



heres stress test results,please dont giggle at my temps!! i know they are poor for sb



a few minutes more tweaking resulted in 9-10-10-28-1t @2133mhz,timings and slightly reduced latency,all using 1.45v dram and stock vccio voltage of 1.05v

all in all im impressed at the performance esp using only 1.45v dram and the cost of just a little bit more than standard 1600mhz memory

Very nice results! What tRFC are you using?

They can handle voltage if you want to give a little more to try better timings. If not, I understand, I'll have some to push on sometime soon!

Just saw them again today somewhere here for $37 now I think, so I better grab a set soon before the prices get jacked up.

trfc is at 171,yeah they are rated at 1.35-1.5v i tried with 1.5v for 2400mhz with 11-11-11-28-2t but no joy,im just scared to use more dram voltage being 30nm,still the cheapest ram regarding performance though,i might grab another kit while they are cheap

Try higher tRFC if you don't want to use more voltage, that may help, and higher tRC might help too.

They'll be fine with more voltage though, I've seen people using 1.65V-1.7+ I'm gonna try to order a set this weekend I think if I have the spare change

my second kit arrived today,on offer in uk so i grabbed a kit,16gb total now,ill try and improve things,would love to run them at 2400mhz

you have to be real carefull getting them out of the packaging and in/out of the mb,they are very small and fragile

im used to ram with huge heatpipes on them,these things are tiny,i wonder how they would perform on x58?

comments look good on newegg. None for X58 though.

yeah thats it,just buy enough for dual channel or split one kit to make tri channel,ive pulled my x58 apart or else id test myself,need a psu to build it back up

I wish I could but money is tight right now. Had to break the wallet for the raid controller. But if anyone would like to send some this way I would be more then welling to try them out on X58 :)
