  • GA-P67A-UD7 USB 3.0 Motherboard Header

Does anyone know of a cable that will hook up to these? I have a Cooler Master HAF X case and would love to have USB 3.0 to the front panel WITHOUT using two of the rear porst or having cables run out the back of my case. I have exhausted the usual places. Gigabyte tells be something MAY be on the way and Cooler Master says it IS on the way but they don't know when. Being impatient I want it now. I have literally spent five or six hour lookin and can find nothing. I even contacted ASUS because the seem to have something but couldn't track anything down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would even go as far as to make my own but can't find the connector the actually plugs into the 19 pin (2x10) MB header.

    Thanks,
    John

As I stated I have a Gigabyte board, a GA-P67A-UD7 and it does have them. Now, where can I find cables that will attach?

    Thanks,
    John

Well you'd need front panel USB 3.0 ports, or a bay device with USB 3.0 ports.

There are plenty of USB 3.0 cables out there, just not the type to connect to the boards yet. There is some front panel/bay devices that should come with the cables you need.

I found this one for you though
      Newegg.com - SIIG JU-H40212-S1 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Bay Hub

This would also work, it uses the rear ports to connect to the front. Not ideal, but it will get them up front if that is what you are after
      Newegg.com - SilverStone FP36B Aluminum front panel 2X USB 3.0 ports with 3.5" to 2X 2.5" bay converter device,

        Check this out Lian Li UC-01 USB3.0 to 20-Pin Converter (UC-01) - FrozenCPU.com

So far this is the best solution I've been able to find. Would still prefere "Normal" motherboard connectors/cables for USB 3.0 but just haven't found any yet.

Z68 has them, I know that's not much help with P67 though :(

This bay device came with my G1.Sniper board. You can take the connector portion out of the bay, connect it to your header, and that gives you two male USB 3.0 ports inside your case; connect the front panel USB 3.0 cables to these connectors, and you'll be set.

This is what I did with my RV03 case, which has the same FP USB 3.0 cables but no header connection, just standard female USB 3.0 connectors. I routed the USB 3.0 connector from the bay device behind my motherboard tray, so it is all internal.

Oh, sorry, that is a Silverstone bay device, not a Gigabyte one. The Gigabyte bay device comes with the header you need, not this Silverstone one. Not sure if Gigabyte is selling those separately.

This is amazing. I just bought a cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced that I installed an ASUS M4A87TD EVO motherboard in. My problem is nearly identical. The case came with two 3.0 USB front mounted ports with a cable coming out of each one that is integrated into one connector with 20 pins female. I talked to ASUS about the problem, and they suggested buying two USB cables and using them in place of the cable that came with the case. I'll keep you informed as to my progress.

                  Here you go:

Mounts in a 3.5' bay or an unused PCI slot

The perfect and most versatile solution is a simple 19pin Header to USB 3.0 conversion cable. I just bought one on ebay for my new motherboard and it is great.
                      Search on Ebay for:USB 3.0 motherboard cable/connector 19pin to USB 3.0

                      I hope this helps
