    I have an i5 750 OC'ed 160 BCLK with Turbo enabled on an GA-P55-USB3 with 2x2GB 1333, some questions about the Advanced Voltage Settings in bios :

    QPI/Vtt Voltage : Default is 1.100V / i use 1.21
    PCH Core : Default is 1.050V / i retyped 1.050V
    CPU PLL : Default is 1.800V / i retyped 1.800V

    1)Should i use less QPI/Vtt? Is 1.21 too much for this OC? Is it true that the lowest i can use is 1.15V because my ram has 1.65V and the difference must be lower then 0.5V?
    2)About the PCH and CPU PLL did it do ok by retyping the normal values or should i leave them on AUTO?

    Yes,its said to keep .5v within qpi/vtt as not to damage the integrated memory controller,1.21v is fine for that clock,CPU pll and pch are fine on auto

      Re: Advanced Bios Settings ga-p55-usb3

      I was told that you shouldn't leave any values on AUTO especially on GB boards when you are overclocking. Do you suggest i put AUTO and see what values it has put there?

      Also if i lower qpi/vtt to lets say 1.18 or 1.19 will i see any benefits as for the temperatures or the longevity of the system overall?

      Last question : on advanced voltage settings you have 2 columns Normal / Current. On the section where you select the values if you select Normal does it mean it saves the value of the Normal column?

      I am aiming for the following settings, please advise if i am at the right direction for overclocking on DEFAULT voltages but not AUTO:

      Load-Line Calibration [Disabled]
      CPU Vcore 1.30625V [Normal]
      x Dynamic Vcore(DVID) +0.00000V [Normal]
      QPI/Vtt Voltage 1.100V [1.210V]
      PCH Core 1.050V [Normal]
      CPU PLL 1.800V [Normal]
      DRAM Voltage 1.500V [1.660V]

      This is kinda what i mean, i don't have that motherboard but i want to set it up like this.

        The 3 main voltages you shouldn't leave on auto are CPU,Dram and Qpi/vtt voltages,all the other voltages you can leave on auto as the mb is pretty accurate in setting those voltages,normal is the default voltage for that component,you won't reduce any temps with lowering qpi/vtt,the biggest voltage to reduce heat is the CPU voltage

          Re: Advanced Bios Settings ga-p55-usb3

          Having some second thoughts about my overclock and i would appreciate some suggestions. First of all i am thinking of disabling the i5 750's Turbo boost function and have a constant multiplier x20. If i do that i will set 180 BCLK to achieve 3.6ghz costant OC. I have a feeling that turbo mode requires more voltage and let me explain. While testing with Prime i used to shut down workers in order to see how the turbo works and how much voltage it uses. So it used 1.216V when running all four cores at 3.2ghz and 1.264V when running one or two cores at 3.86ghz. I have a feeling that if i disable turbo and set the OC to 3.6ghz it will use around 1.23-1.24 which is lower volts for only 200mhz loss of CPU speed.

          So the question is : will i see overall improvement if i up the BCLK to 180? And the loss of 200 mhz from 3.86 to 3.66 will be compensated from the BCLK raise? Please let me post what i plan to set on the bios and correct if you can. (let me remind i have i5 750, hyper 212+, ga-p55-usb3, 2x2gb kingston 1333 cl7 1.65V rams)

          Advanced Frequency Settings
          CPU Clock Ratio --> 20x
          Advanced CPU Core Features --> All Enabled inside, DISABLE Turbo boost
          QPI Clock Ratio --> x32 (I heard that you should put the lower possible value)
          x BCLK Frequency (Mhz) --> 180
          System Memory Multiplier (SPD) --> x8
          Memory Frequency (Mhz) --> 1440
          PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) --> 100 (Put that manually not AUTO right?)

          Advanced Memory Settings
          System Memory Multiplier (SPD) -->x8
          Memory Frequency (Mhz) --> 1440 (Do you think Kingston can run on CL7 on that MHZ too?)
          Performance Enhance --> Turbo
          DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD) --> Expert
          Channel A/B Timing Settings --> manually set 5 first numbers 7-7-7-20

          Mother Board Voltage Control
          Load-Line Calibration --> I know if i enable this i will have less vdrop but i am thinking of Disabling it, AUTO seems to enable it.
          CPU Vcore 1.30625V --> My CPU VID is pretty high so i will select Normal there (to have C states and EIST enabled)
          x Dynamic Vcore(DVID) --> Normal or +0.00000V is the same? I don't want to use that yet. Maybe if it gets unstable i will add some.
          QPI/Vtt Voltage --> 1.210V (that was the setting it set when i had enabled XMP on this ram so i guess it needs that)
          PCH Core --> Normal value is 1.050V, either i will retype it or use AUTO as you said.
          CPU PLL --> Normal value is 1.800V, either i will retype it or use AUTO as you said.
          DRAM Voltage --> 1.660V

          wazza, please review and corrent if any suggestions.

            Re: Advanced Bios Settings ga-p55-usb3

            everything is fine on auto,llc and pci-e ect,just set dram to 1.66v cpu to normal and qpi/vtt to 1.210v,if it was stable at 1.264v @3.2ghz then you can leave cpu voltage on normal and set dvid to -0.04225v,this will reduce your normal of CPU Vcore 1.30625V to 1.264v at max 100% load and less when idle,if you want to run tighter timings of 7-7-7-20 you might need between 1.2-1.25v qpi/vtt

              You literally answered none of my questions....

              Anyone else who cares to take 5 minutes and actually read my post and respond with an advice? The main question is : static oc @ 3.6ghz with 180 BCLK or dynamic OC with 160 BCLK up to 3.84ghz will yield better performances? Also i have some questions about the specific settings its all there...

                You won't notice any performance drop by disabling turbo and adjusting bclk,settings look fine to me,I always read what people post,sorry if I didn't understand fully,

                  I just want to know if the overall system performance will be better when using higher BCLK and higher Ram speed cause they will be running at 1440 than it's rated 1333 speed.
