Gigabyte motherboard & windows 7

Hallo this is my first time on this forum i hope i am doing it right.

I have a GA-VM900M motherboard and 2.8GHZ CPU with 1 GB ram and i am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on it.

It picks up my DVD ROM (and i have a usb DVD ROM) in my CMOS and when it goes throw to the screen where it says: "press any key to boot from cd/dvd"
it works fine after I pressed a key it goes to a second screen where it says: "1.run install windows" and "2.run X64 recovery" then when i take "run install windows"
it goes to the third screen where it shows it is loading the windows files (a BLACK & WHITE screen) then it just freeze or sometimes it just goes black.

Any help possible ??

are you trying to install 64bit? if so it maybe lack of ram

No it's a 32 bit

I know i should have 2gb ram for the 64bit

that why i am trying the 32bit but that same disk worked on my other computer .

I tested it to see if it boot up and it works fine but it just doesn't want to work on this PC .

Can't it maybe be the bios?

What is the 1GB of memory, a single stick or 2x512MB? Can you borrow a single 2GB stick from another machine to install on this system just so you can see if that helps the install, use only that single 2GB stick.

Since that board does not use the normal AMD or Intel chipsets, you may need to load the SATA Pre-install drivers during setup, are you loading those or do you even get far enough into the install to load a driver?

And yes, it could be the BIOS, I'd suggest you update to the latest BIOS via DOS or Qflash in case that helps

It is 2x512mb ram sticks and i have put in 2x1gb from my other PC in to this one and still doesn't want to work i will try the 2gb see if i can find one here somewhere .

I just saw something now i got a core2due 2.6GHZ E4600 by my one friend and when i putted the CPU in ,it picked it up as a core2due but it was then it was only running at 1.2GHZ.

I have never updated a Bios system so I am a little bit scared to do it and no i i cant install anything just when it is loading the disk (when the black and white screen cums up with the bar that shows how far it is loading the disk) then it freezes or the screen just goes black.

HAHA i don't know if I found the actual problem, but I check my CMOS threw and i saw my CPU temp was at 50-60I know that is not normal so I put the CPU temp waring system on 70 and as soon as I started the windows disk the alarm went off so I took out the whole mother board put a much better CPU fan in , put it back and made sure everything was correctly plug in and it is working now .!!!

But thanks everybody for the help . If anything goes wrong again i will be coming back for more help.

Great to hear you solved the issue!! Sounds like it was overheating and you didn't know it as you mentioned.
