  • Gigabyte ep45-ds3 and 2x2gb ocz reaper 1150Mhz Keeps reboot

    Hi guys!

I have a problem, with my new ocz reaper ramkit :S

I have 2x2gb 1150Mhz ocz ram. OCZ Reaper HPC OCZ2RPR11502GK
    And a gigabyte ga-ep45-ds3, with F10b bios.

If i set it to 1150Mhz and 5-6-6-18. My system keeps reboot. Rams only work with optimised default settings, i try run it on 1066, but system reboot after bios load, or i geting ble screen.

Here is a pictures from my bios, what need is set?

    Set Performance Enhance on Standard

Then you will need to set MCH Voltage to +0.2-0.3V, and set your ram voltage to +0.3 = 2.1V. Your memory allows up to 2.3V, but you shouldn't need that much until later if you push it maybe, I'd advise keeping it under 2.2V

Then you need to set the System Memory Multiplier to 3.20B for 1066Mhz, if you want faster than that you need to overclock your CPU. Then set Dram timing selectable to Manual, and set the main memory timings to 5-5-5-18

And if you do want to try overclocking you'll need to let us know your CPU model and what cooler you are using.

I am guessing Q9550, what other CPU has 8.5 multi with 333MHz FSB?

Yes i have Q9550 and a noctua nh-u12p cooler on it. (it was overclocked befor new rams, to 3,77Ghz, i want overclock again around 4Ghz)

I want use the memorys at 1150Mhz. I read somewhere, if i have 1066 or higher ram, i need set trfc around 60. And on this forum, i need disable usb legacy support.

Leae tRFC alone BIOS knows what to set it to, it should be set to be 78 with for your ram at 1150, and it will just leave it auto.
Try with 360 and SMM 3.20B to see if it's possible at all and with what DRAM Voltage.
At 3.77GHz it will run 1180 if you are lucky, if not than try 2.50Afor or lower FSB to 432(3.67GHz), or go for higher FSB and overclock 479 x 8 SMM 2.400B.
          For 360MHz FSB tRD(Static tRead Value) 6 or 7, for 444MHz 7 or 8.

I set mch core 1.32v, memory voltage 2.2v, fsb at 345, memory at 1150Mhz, now don't rebbot, after i turn on, but i get blue screen sometimes.

timeing 5-6-6-18 what i set in bios, but cpuid say its 5-6-6-26

Are you using SMM 3.33D or 3.33C multiplier?
Just pushing up vltages is not the right way to do it. At 360MHz FSB you should be fine with 1.16-1.24v MCH Core.
Try 360MHz FSB, CPU Ratio 8, SMM 3.20B, timings 5-5-5-18, Vcore VTT(CPU Termination) and PLL normal, the rest auto.
Later try to set tRD(Static tRead Value in BIOS, Performance Level in MemSet) to 7, and then 6 if possible, both channels.

MCH 1.3x is too much, try as Chike mentioned above (1.15-1.25), around 1.2 may be best.

What tab are you looking at in CPU-z for the timings? Only the memory tab will show the actual used settings, SPD tab shows programmed settings.
