  • GA-A75-UD4H doesn't recognize the Memory Speed

    Hi,

i purchased this as my new system:

    GA-A75-UD4H Mother board
    A8-3870 processor
    16 GB crosair ram

since i put them together and i'm facing some issues:

    1) i have Microsoft Keyboard with usb and i connect it into usb 2.0/1.1 ports in the back panel.
when i enter bios, i can only have like 10 seconds then i can't use the kayboard any more, simply the bios hangs and i have to press the power to resetart. i updated the operating system with the drivers for the keyboard but it still not working. also tried to use other ports in front/bank panels ... some of them doesn't even recognize the keyboard even in windows.

    2) i have corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 which is in the compatible memory modules list, i have 4 modules making 16GB, in POST screen i can see that the speed in 1333MHZ which is not the speed of the modules and i tried to change the options in BIOS to manually set it in 1600 the start did carsh and revert to the last known good setting.

    any one can help ??

Re: GA-A75-UD4H doesn't recognize the Memory Speed

not sure on amd boards but with more memory you need to manually set the dram voltage to whats printed on the ram itself 1.5v i think it will be or 1.55v,then manually set cpu imc or northbridge voltage, see what auto is using and add one or two clicks more than that

if you unstable try with only 8gb of ram instlled then set all those voltages and add the other 8gb and it will be more stable

thats true, but it doesnt always get it right,it will explain in your motherboard manual what each voltage setting does,i just have no idea on amd boards but they are all similar, you just need to tweak the voltage for the integrated memory controller inside the cpu,the more ram you run the more voltage usually is needed,1333mhz is just the default speed so that its most stable ect,its up to the user to then set it to what its rated at ect,i think only intel boards support xmp,xmp sets up all this for you with one click but its not difficult to set up the speed/timings/voltages yourself
