CPU CLOCK RATIO cannot be changed - A75N-USB3

OK I'll try to keep this as simple as possible.

Problem:
Setting the CPU Clock Ratio from "AUTO" to anything including what would be the stock multiplier (x30) results in: "The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking" I then have to set the multiplier back to "AUTO" to fix this. I simply wish to under-clock my APU's, which should be a feature on this motherboard.

Hardware I have:

• Gigabyte A75N-USB3 (x2)
• A8-3870k (x2)
• A8-3850 (x1)
• A6-3500 (x1)
• Multiple RAM Sets
• Multiple Power Supplies
• Multiple SSD/HDDs

What I have tried:

• A second A75N-USB3
• Every BIOS revision (f1,f2,f3c)
• Every multiplier option
• Overclock and Underclock
• Different RAM, Timings and Voltages
• Different Power Supply
• All my APUs

Sadly I've come close to concluding that this is a BIOS problem, and this guy seems to be in the same boat: http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...processor.html

Any help would be much appreciated before I go off to ebay.

I heard a lot of issues with over clocking the Llano mini-itx board when they came out. They only have 3+1 phase power, while the higher end ones have 8+2 (I have the A75-UD4H). If it's a power issue you can try disabling APM in the bios. That helped me with throttling, but not sure if it will help you.

Can you overclock? did you try ET6 in windows?

Not sure what's going on with your system. It's very strange.

Try Gigabyte phone support next unless you have time to return for refund. Don't wait too long fiddling with this and miss your deadline for return like me and my ASRock board.

Thanks for the input,

Unfortuantly I have already tried turning off every feature to solve this.

I cannot over or underclock the CPU CLOCK RATIO, I can easily overclock using the fsb 100 -> 120, but I need to reduce power.

Basicaly any alteration of the CPU CLOCK RATIO in or outside of windows results in a boot failure.

Currently waiting on a reponse from gigabyte.

I have also submitted an RMA to ebuyer, I hope they can accept it back.
