  • 4 dimm bios issues

hey guys so I'm currently running f6 on my z87 ud3h with 16 GB of crucial tracer 1866. I was able to crank the voltage up a bit to 1.6v to get a stable system running without hundreds of bsod's anymore. My problem is that I can't boot the computer from a cold boot at all. I get a post code of 15 and I have to use the reset button a few times to get the board to initialze the memory. Once it starts the system boots and runs fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm away from home so I can't try f7a yet what are the changes in that bios?

All of the previous BIOSes I used were all unstable and resulted in several irql blue screens =[
    Thanks

No I haven't gone that high. But I also saw that when I went into the BIOS after one of these bad starts my settings would be what I set them to (1866 1.6v) but the system monitor would report the memory running at 1.5v at 1333

        Re: 4 dimm bios issues

does the ram support x.m.p in the bios? x.m.p sets up the ram for you

if it gives you issues still, try manually setting up the ram, your safe to use upto 1.65v dram voltage

Yea XMp is an epic fail. When. I set everything manually it also fails but when I set the timings to auto they were really loose 10 10 10 24 ,or something like that I don't remember, it was better but wasn't stable till I set 1.6v I'll try it with 1.65v when. I get home this weekend.

            Re: 4 dimm bios issues

it's probably down to poor bios support for that make/model of ram atm

chances are things will or should improve with future bios's,16gb is a lot of memory so you might be ok with those timings for 8gb,16gb might need looser timings/more dram voltage

C state? Can you elaborate more ?

Edit just read the manual I was confusing c state with s state. I'll definitely try that when I get home I could care less about power consumption on a desktop especially with a 1000watt psu

Has it improved compatability with different ram? I still don't get how I can't use any ram I want without issues to be real with you lol

you shouldn't have to disable power states,it should work and be stable with them on

but I agree its worth testing just to see if its that
