  • GA-Z97X-GAMING GT - Worked for half a day, now it wont turn on

    Hi,

I just bought a new computer, put it together and everything seemed fine for half a day. I then noticed that it was as if the computer wasn't registering my 970gtx. It wasn't showing up in my device manager. I tried moving it to another slot but then the computer isn't even turning on. What happens is when I turn on he PSU, the power button on the motherboard blinks once orange. But I can't turn on the machine. I have a 850w Corsair PSU, my first thought was that it had failed so I tried another one. It did not work.

Now I've started to think it's the motherboard. The power button just blinks once when I turn on the PSU, otherwise it won't turn on. I really hope someone here has an answer. Please help!

    Regards,
    Aen

Please detail all of the hardware you have to better help... but for such issues like this I'll try to run the system out of the case on a cardboard box (NOT on a static bag) and see if everything works. could be shorting on the case.

Also break the system down to just the CPU (with the heat sink installed) and ram and see if it posts. no GPU, no USB devices... if it posts then add the GPU... if it doesn't post with just the CPU and ram, pull the CPU out to make sure none of the pins are damaged... that's where i would start.

Without more hardware detail I can't help you.
