  • GA z170x gaming 3-eu slow boot

I just build a system with z170x gaming 3-eu and M.2 sm951 MZ-HPV2560 ahci. The boot W7-x64 takes cca 60 seconds. My old i7-870 based pc with vertex 4 ssd is 10 seconds faster ! I could live with that but if I install Gigabyte APP center booting take almost 2 minutes. I noticed another problem with LAN driver from gigabyte CD: when this is installed there is so many (50-100) lines of failed to load driver in the msconfig boot log. So I unininstall this driver and update it with device manager.
Any idea what is going on here? I was thinking that boot will be fast with M.2 drive, ATTO benchmark report write speed 1247010 MB/sec and read speed 2247981 MB/sec.

I finally solved the problem of slow booting. The trick is that I have to install windows 7 on GPT formated M.2 drive. Then I have problems with drivers not found and my solution is as follow:

    1. make bootable usb with rufus (GPT partition)
    2. make dvd with same iso file
    3. start installation from usb then when drivers not find insert dvd and continue installing.

That's great that you solved your issue. May I ask why you are installing Windows 7 on your new build. Why not install Windows 10, it is far superior to Windows 7 and has more support for all the latest hardware you are running, from the specs that you listed in your build ?

I have win 10 on my second pc, it is not user friendly to me. I using my main pc (Win 7) for video editing, I don't want to discover which app will work or won't.
