AMD 2000+ is around a P4 2.0ghz, though really about like a 2.2ghz IMO

This is often a touchy subject. There are many designs of CPUs even among the same manufacturer and their performance will vary over a great many factors. An XP2000 will beat a 2.0 P4 in some aspects but not others. It really depends on what you want to build and what you want to do with it after you build it. And of course how much cash you have to spare! ;)
