the best way to overclock it will be to get some PC3200 or 3500 then change the fsb to 400 mhz.
this will give 200x11=2200mhz which is the same speed as a 3200.
it should hit these settings no problem but might need a slight voltage increase
can anyone tell me the best overclocking settings for my Athlon XP 2500+ Barton, with an MSI 745 Ultra Motherboard. The memory I have at present is DDR 2700 at 333, and it seems I might have to buy better memory to accomplish this overclocking. I have been told I can get it up to 3200+. I have quite a bit of fan cooling going on right now, CPU runs at 36C with SETI@home running or Burn-In. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So, do I just change the FSB settings to 200, or is it better to change the mulitiplier?
Is there anyway to get away with doing this without having to buy new memory, or can I bump it up with the PC 2700 I have in there? Or is this too risky, and I might fry the RAM?
Also, will I need extra cooling?
chances are the 2500 will be multiplyer locked unless youve had it for a while.
its very difficult to fry ram unless you give it way too high voltage.
the 2700 should overclock a bit but probably wont get you to 200mhz fsb.
you should reach 3200 speeds on the stock cooler in a well ventilated case but i would suggest a TT v7+ or a TT silent boost just to make sure that the cooling is good enough
