Default Newbee O'cer W/ no probs! What's wrong

The question is am I using Prime 95 correctly for stability test?
    Bought :
    Gigabyte UD3P
    E8500 (E0)
    Corsair XMS2 800 (2 x 2 gigs)
    Xig S1283 (both CPU/cooler lapped)
    Win XP pro 32

So I got the MB running and the goal was OC to 4 Ghz.
First OC ever. Set all voltages to normal.
Ran up to 400 fsb, ok, then 425; all at stock voltage, ok.
Was amazed but what do I know, cause now I’m pushing memory too?
So I think, why not Prime 95 it all night, see if it blows?
Well, it’s noon the next day, P95 running for almost 15 hr, CPU temp never over 44 deg, perfect!
What gives, just spent 3 months reading forums on OC tweaking and all I had to do was change one number! Did I just luck out, OR, am I doing the stress test wrong?
    Thanks
    Jnanster.

    Hello out there.
My other worrry is that the ambient here in San Diego didn't get above 70. So the cpu didn't get above 46 degrees.
So I'm worried that at higher temps, the system may become unstable.
    Is this also a problem?
Can I rerun Prime 95 and turn off/down the case cooling to artificially bump up the CPU temp (say 60) to simulate higher ambient temps, does it matter?
    Thanks again
