I think that it's called CPU/PCIe Base Clock (aka BCLK).Is There a Front Side Bus or Equivalent that can be overclocked?
With the newer z77 boards, the standard setting is 100.0 and the maximum o/c is to about 103 or slightly higher.
Tweaking this setting too high will mess up hardware connected via the pci-e lanes.
Check out the mobo block diagram in your user manual and you'll see which components will be affected.

Loading OPTIMIZED bios defaults is REQUIRED before you tweak your bios settings.
This includes new system setups and immediately after flashing your bios!!!

I set it to 1005
was OK at 4.4 but not over that.
Why does my memory clock down to 1333?
It's 1600 mhz.

You will probably need to read some Z68a overclocking guides or threads.
A web search using: sin0822 z68a will provide excellent overclocking details.
I'm pretty sure that there are some bios voltage settings that need to be tweaked when increasing BCLK.
I think that you will find that increasing BCLK will give small gains at best.
See which o/c approaches give the best results.
How much memory are you running?

No there is no front side bus that is old technology.
The clock may be increased slightly, 2 to 5 MHz not more, but why bother when you have unlocked CPU ratio, I don't believe it adds anything to performance.

I'm running Vue 9.5 and producing an ecosystem on a 2048*2048 terrain is running upwards of 10GB memory.

Depends on the chip, some can do 5-5.2GHz.
As I said before Intel burm Test is not a must, see where you can get with Pri,e95 only wich will result in about 10c less.
