i7 2600K overclock with stock fan

Hi

I am new here and just built my first set up for day to day use
i have currently overclocked it to 4.00GHz and disabled Speedstep and all other power saving modes (c3 c1e) and my temperatures are currently 39- 40 degrees C . I have run a stress test and have passed, are those temps okay until i get a new cooler?
if you don't mind can you recommend a good cooler under £40 if possible

are those load temps? why disable c1e eist? they should work fine and not affect stability,your best save a bit and buy a decent cooler or one of those sealed watercooled units like the corsair h80i

hi they are just idle temp. I read a overclocking guide and they stated that speedstep and c1e ect are power saving modes, and that speedstep only alllows your overclock to run when it is needed while i prefer it to be constant. please correct me if i am wrong

update the CPU is now running at 37 degrees idle

its personal choice if you want power saving on or off,personally i like to have it on,the cpu clocks up and down if needed just like your graphic card does,so it saves power and runs cooler ect
