  • IAStorDataSvc is always doing I/O

IAStorDataSvc is always doing I/O. I have spent the day trying to fix a general problem with multiple root causes. My machine has essentially constant disk access lights when I am not doing anything. Some applications are always doing what is classes as I/O other in task manager. Some appears to be due to conflicts. MSE seems to have annoyed Norton 360. I should have known better.

I have gotten much resolved. Last big one is IAStorDataSvc. I understand it is Intel software for the drives. The question is does it have to be running, and is it normal for it to constantly do I/O in an idle machine?

Start in Safe mode and see if you see the same, if not it is either spyware/virus or Norton

What version RAID Drivers or Matrix program do you have installed? You may just need to update them, here is the latest

if you switched from the AHCI driver of Intel to Microsoft.
Delete an Intel rapid technology and It will stop if it does so.
