Just build a media centre PC:
    Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 motherboard
    Intel core i3 540
    Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz
    Seagate 1TB HDD

Installed all the latest drivers from Gigabyte website, however there is an exclamation mark next to “Renesas Electronics USB 3 Host Controller” and status of the device is “This device cannot start. (Code 10)”.
Tried to uninstall and reinstall drivers. BIOS seems to be the latest version (F5). Tried to update NEC USB-3 controller firmware (F302108FWUP6),but it fails with error "detect serial rom error".
Any ideas what else I could try?

Is your F6a file an alpha version? Is it safe to install it?

Tried to install it anyway but it refuses saying that I already have newer version.

Firmware installation still fails with "detect serial rom error". Is there a way to check what firmware my USB 3.0 runs?

no it will only update if its newer than the older drivers,is it a fresh install of windows? maybe try a reinstall? other than that i would email gigabyte and ask if they have any fixes, could be faulty usb3 but idk

Will try to reinstall it this evening and then install drivers provided on Gigabyte DVD.
Other option would be to try 32bit version OS, but would like to avoid it if possible…
                              Already emailed Gigabyte.
