I have a Gigabyte Z77x-UD3H (F18 bios) and 3570k with 16GB of G.Skill memory; part # F3-1866C10-8GAB. The memory works but I can not change any settings. Video cards are 2-GTX275s in SLI if that helps.
The bios recognized the RAM and set its default-rated frequency to 1866mhz 10-11-10-30 timings. All voltages are manually set to defaults ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected]) and everything is stable; passes memtest v4.20 for 8 hours overnight and was stable for over a week of uptime in Win7 with no crashes or odd behavior.
The problem is changing BIOS settings do not take effect on this RAM. Even the XMP profiles do not change anything. The bios, memtest and windows still report 1866mhz, 10-11-10-30.
I have 2 other sets of ram that settings work fine with (Corsair XMS3 and OCZ Gold). Between each set I reset the BIOS via the bios reset button on the motherboard in addition to factory defaults in the bios. I tired the bios that shipped with the board, F11, and the latest non-beta bios, F18. Same result.
