Every time by bios is reset I lose access to my RAID 0 array, even if I go into bios and change the storage options from AHCI to RAID before booting to Windows. When I enter the Intel Raid manager utility (ctrl - i during boot) the array shows as "failed", with one of my two WD Caviar Black 640GB drives will no longer listed as a member disk, and I will not be able to boot from or access the data in the array. My option within the Intel Raid manager is only to delete and recreate the array, thereby wiping it of my data. I have the RAID drives plugged into the SATA3 #3 and #4 ports. I am booting from a Samsung 840 Pro 128MB SSD in the SATA3 #2 port (so it it forced to load as AHCI) on my Z77 Extreme 6 board.
I am looking for a way to either restore the RAID array (from within windows or otherwise) or to prevent the RAID array from being deleted whenever I update bios or clear cmos. The data on the drives is backed up, but it takes forever to copy it all back over every time this happens. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
