Re: Dynamic Energy Saver for Windows 8?
I actually never saw a benefit to this program, all it ever did was cause instability for me.. and when I was running it (with intel speedstep and Bios Power saver options also enabled) I was running a Kill-A-Watt meter to see what my PC used for energy and with or without the software installed I used no more or less energy... then I just chalked it up to a fancy pictorial display for what the was already built in to the hardware....
I also was not running a gigabyte GPU, so I never got in to that... maybe if everything was gigabyte then you could spool down the GPU's more.... but my 580's already clocked down to 200Mhz core on the 1st GPU and 50Mhz core on the 2nd... any lower and I'd have no display while browsing....
What real world benefit did you have/see?

Re: Dynamic Energy Saver for Windows 8?
Never used watmeter to see real benefits. My CPU is overclocked but DES didn't cause any stability or latency issues and I thought if it is suposed to lower power consumption and heating why not give it a go.

got ya... I was actually measuring power usage... all I found it did was graphically show you what was going on by not doing anything....

Re: Dynamic Energy Saver for Windows 8?
There have been a few posts that reported the DES energy savings was only 3 - 4 watts.
Quite a few posts said that they had stability problems when DES was installed and running.Q9650 @ 4.10GHz [9x456MHz]

Re: Dynamic Energy Saver for Windows 8?
lol.... and that's only 1% of the total power my Rig can use (CPU/GPU fully Loaded Measurement)... so call that error in measurement...
so no benefit....
