ASRock 970 Extreme 3 No Sound From Onboard Jacks.

So I all of a sudden now have no sound on my Mobo. Speakers are plugged in like always but they dont even get detected by the onboard Realtek hardware. Any thoughts....?

I have so far done the following:

Removed all Realtek software, then restart. And then re-installed with latest driver for Win7 64.
Re-installed Chipset drivers just in case.
Checked the mobo to see if there were any burns or anything of that nature nothing to suggest a overload on the board somewhere and all else runs fine.


Speakers show not detected in the playback devices section.

Ended up buying a sound card. Oddly enough when I installed the new software for the sound card it did something to kill off what ever the issue was now my onboard sound works again. Go figure...

All the un-installing and scrubbing I did couldnt fix it, yet when I added a new component it blew away what ever was causing the issue.

Creative Sound Blaster Reacon 3D was my choice.
