  • iSRT (SSD cache) NOT working on GA-X79-UD3 BIOS F16

    Hi,

After upgrading to BIOS F16 Mod, my SSD cache stopped working. Within the Intel OROM the RAID between the SSD and the HDD showed up as "Incompatible". Similar to this post:
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...echnology.html

I thought that destroying the acceleration in the OROM and creating it again within Windows would fix the problem, but I can't recreate it. There is no option to "accelerate" the HDD within the Intel Rapid Storage Technology tool.

I've flashed the BIOS F16 without mod, but I have the exact same problem.

If I try to install the Gigabyte tool "EZ Smart Response" I get the error "Err not Z-chip". And then:

    Error Number: 0x80040707
Description: DLL function call crashed: CheckFK.SearchBIOSStr

(searching for a BIOS string, maybe??)

I didn't try F14 BIOS, I really don't wan't to go back to that BIOS, I had other annoying issues...

    Any ideas?

    Same here and more,

For the ISRT, I try F15 (minimum bios I can downgrade now) F16 F17b c & d and modded F17 with OROM 12.7 nothing let me use acceleration.

For my overclock on my 3820, I was able to use 36x Base clock ratio 100Mhz Clock freq x1.25 CPU clock ratio = 4.50 and 43x100Mhzx1.00 = 4.30 now using any base clock ratio over 1.00 not working and changing the cpu clock ratio to anything over 36 pc will boot but cpu clock ratio will be set at 36 non-turbo and 38 turbo nothing over.

      Special thank to MacG32,

You can downgrade before F15 with this tools <A HREF="http://www.mediafire.com/?alkk51r6xd3nbdq">FTK v0.9.6.1</A>, make a bootable DOS USB key (I use HP format tools and windows 98 boot disk) put FTK and your bios on it. Boot your PC with your DOS USB key and type "fpt -bios -f biosname.f14"

Here you can find a modified F14 bios <A HREF="http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/48085-gigabyte-modified-bios.html">http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/48085-gigabyte-modified-bios.html</A>

        Hi,

I've already tested with F14 and it works again. But I have another issues. I really don't want to go back to F14, but F15/16/17, BETA, Stable and modified... all have the same problem, SSD cache is not working.

I wish Gigabyte could do something about it...
