  • Z87M Extreme 4 Memory

I'm considering an I5-4670 in an Azrock Z87M Extreme 4 with 1600 memory.

While overclocking isn't necessary, I might like to take advantage of Turbo. I'm not clear on the effect Turbo may have on memory speed.

Should I consider 1866 memory in lieu of 1600 to cover Turbo?

The Intel CPU Turbo feature has no effect on memory speed at all.

The CPU clock rate increase provided by Turbo is not accomplished by changing the system's base clock (BCLK), and the CPU and memory multipliers/ratios are independent of each other.

      Thank you for the explanation.
