  • Can't get all monitors to work FM2A88X E6+

Okay so I bought this asrock FM2A88X E6+ motherboard because it had enough onboard graphics to run 4 monitors but I can't get all four to work. Only 2. I have downloaded the drivers and installed. When I go to display setting the monitors are detected. When i select 'extend desktop to this display' and save the setting i get an error Unable to save display settings. the onboard graphics is AMD Radeon HD 7560D.

Thanks for any help on this. I tried to email asrock and they sent back a canned response for me to contact my dealer???

    Regards,
    Cardgunner

Update: I got the third to work by hooking it to the VGA. So I have 1 hooked VGA, 2 hooked thru the DVI, and the 3 thru a HDMI. I have tried 4 thru the other HDMI and thru the display port with no luck.

It detects it but can't extend desktop to it thru the display port. It won't detect it thru the unused HDMI.

Are you using an FM2+ CPU, or an FM2 CPU? Only the FM2+ CPU supports Quad Display, according to the AsRock website

    MAIN PC
    CPU
    - i7-3820 @ 3.60Ghz
    MB - AsRock X79 Extreme6 (Bios P2.80)
    RAM - 2 x 8Gb Patriot Viper 1866 CL10 Series @933Mhz
GPU - ASUS Radeon HD 7870 Direct CU II (2Gb) x 2 (XFire)

Re: Can't get all monitors to work FM2A88X E6+

It's an AMD A8-5600K, Socket FM2. So it won't work. Shouldn't the 3 rd work in the HDMI port? It only works in VGA.

I'm so freaking upset. I spent a lot of time looking at this because I wanted quads. And I didn't want to but extra cards to get it. Crap. Apparently I didn't spend enough time. Any suggestions at this point?

The 2nd HDMI port is a HDMI IN port, not out. You can use it for things like hooking your PSx/X-Box to your computer using a HDMI cable, which will then pass the signal through to your monitor. It will not supply a signal from the computer itself to the monitor.
(If I understand this correctly, you do not even have to power up the computer for this to work).

Diffident suggestion only, as I really don't know what else you can do to get Quad Monitors. Upgrade the CPU to a Socket FM2+?

As with what was said above you only have 3 outputs with that 1 extra hdmi in. If you want to get 4 screens on only your onboard graphics you might have to buy a DisplayPort 1.2 MST hub and run 3 monitors through the display port and then another through one of your other choices.

Will that work without upgrading my FM2 cpu to a FM2+?
